Ms. E

Affectionately called "Ms. E" and referred to by many youth and families as “The Heart Lady”, Evelyn Polk is a Licensed Marriage, Family & Child Therapist, in private practice for 25 years.

Owner/Clinical Supervisor of "Talk To M.E." Counseling in Vallejo, CA; Founder and Director of For A Child's H.E.A.R.T. Inc., she has the experience working with children, youth, couples and families in various capacities, for over 35 years. After listening to the hearts of many, Ms. Evelyn decided to speak back into the hearts of youth and adults about the perplexities of life and being triumphant in following your heart. Her motto

is “Heal your heart and follow it."

She chose and was chosen to work with and learn from the best in sharing her message with the world, becoming a member of the Les Brown Platinum Speakers Network. Having mentored and traveled across and outside of the country together, world renown motivational speaker Les Brown, says: "Evelyn is the message that she brings. The life mission that she has taken on to work with foster and adopted kids and families, and youth in general, is something that she does purely from the heart. Her authenticity, clarity, humor, ability to laugh at herself, and the natural ability to transform the minds and hearts of audiences makes her a compelling and powerful presenter and speaker. As her mentor and coach I highly recommend her."

Ms. E has authored three books: "It's Heart Work: Being The Village That Raises A Child," an accompanying workbook “How’s YOUR Heart Working in The Village?" and "Entertaining Angels Aware: I Am My Sister's Keeper," and has co-authored the compilation: "Meeting Les Brown: Mrs. Mamie Brown's Baby Boy." She is also a contributing author to “The Daughters of Harriet” and “I Am: Love, Wisdom & Guidance through Soul Reflection."

She is also the Producer/Host of the Public Access television talk show "Visions For A Child's Heart" and internet radio talk show “HEART Talk with Ms. E." The most valued experiences Ms. E brings to her work, however, are her personal experiences and commitment as a single foster and adoptive parent, the long-term mentoring relationships established with former youth which have been maintained over the decades, and being primary caregiver for her developmentally disabled sister.
